The Lead Technical Project Manager (TPM) within the WDI Technology Studio plays a critical role in ensuring that AI-powered products and platforms are effectively developed and adopted across Walt Disney Imagineering. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and internal studio partners, and is responsible for aligning roadmaps, priorities, and delivery to ensure that what is built by the Tech Studio meets real user needs and scales across the company.
Ideal candidates must be highly proactive, detail-oriented, and able to autonomously work on multiple assignments that may span the department. They must be capable of digging into technical details and clearly communicate schedules, risks, status, and processes to a variety of business and technical audiences. They must be able to partner with closely with product managers, and technical leads to coordinate schedules and deliverables. You will use your unique combination of skills to bring teams together around a vision and determine how to make them real. Your strong technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills remove roadblocks for the team to build prototypes that will inform and inspire

Project Hire

What You Will Do:
- Lead Planning and Execution
- Partner with product and engineering lead(s) to break down the project vision into specific scopes, deliverables, manageable tasks, schedules, and budgets.
- Manage and coordinate budgets, staffing, and timelines in order to ensure product delivery.
- Drive execution across multiple concurrent initiatives, ensuring coordination across teams and dependencies.
- Drive Cross-Studio Alignment
- Align product roadmaps, priorities, and timelines between Tech Studio teams and partner WDI studios.
- Translate stakeholder needs into clear, actionable requirements while balancing competing priorities through the development and maintenance of key WDI Partners.
- Drive execution of Tech Studio product delivery to meet the needs of the receiving WDI Studios.
- Enable Adoption, Reuse, and Scale
- Drive adoption of Tech Studio products by partnering with teams to integrate solutions into active projects and workflows.
- Identify opportunities to reuse, extend, or productize existing tools and platforms.
- Support user onboarding, training, and feedback loops to improve product adoption and usability.
- Apply Technical and Organizational Judgment
- Engage in team discussions to ensure alignment between product capabilities and real-world use cases.
- Navigate ambiguity in emerging AI and software applications, helping teams make informed tradeoffs and decisions.
- Identify and assess risks, competing priorities, constraints and project issues, using your judgment to report up to leadership as necessary to ensure project health and strong forward momentum.
- Drive Clarity to Elevate Teams
- Tailor and deliver project communications, internal team updates, and presentations to varied audiences including stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Promote effective processes, tools, and best practices across the organization.
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships and a collaborative team environment where all participants feel comfortable and empowered to deliver their best work.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience managing AI software projects and technical teams of varying scope and complexity
- Project management experience, driving complex technical projects with multiple teams, and experience managing software development teams in a highly agile environment.
- Project management of multiple projects simultaneously, drive prioritization and communication while managing deadlines and project quality.
- Experienced in driving clarity through ambiguous concept development and necessary pivots to address a changing landscape
- Ability to drive the transformation of high-level scope/vision into actionable plans and move it forward with regular check-ins.
- Creation of production deliverables, including schedules, budgets, scope documents, and presentations.
- Strong familiarity with software suites that are used for roadmap development, schedules, task tracking, and budget management, e.g., Excel, Project, Jira, Confluence, GitLab, etc.
- Excellent cross-functional collaborator with the ability to build strong partnerships of trust across diverse teams and functions.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience managing up to Director and VP-level management
Education:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, Architecture or Equivalent field and experience required

The hiring range for this position in Florida is $135,200.00-$181,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job Posting Segment:
