Description
The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide customer service work and perform routine accounting and collection tasks. The position is responsible for processing service requests, tax returns and adjustments, payment arrangements, accounts receivable, and collections. The position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.Performs customer service activities including processing tap applications, utility connects and disconnects, business license applications, hospitality tax returns, payment arrangements; problem research, and collection efforts.
Performs routine accounting tasks such as balancing cash drawer, preparing deposits and reconciling monthly insufficient checks.
Investigates and responds to inquiries and concerns in person or by phone. Validates the accuracy of customer service inquiries and complaints in assigned area. Answers inquiries using available sources of information including statistical reports.
Aids in development of operational guidelines for the customer service operations and citizens requests.
Determines resolutions to problem accounts after investigation of the individual account history and administers agreements when applicable. Uses established processes in collection efforts including communication and follow-up with third parties.
Periodically reviews and updates online forms and website instructions in coordination with IT department.
Performs all activities related to the cashier function as needed by the Operations Manager. Counts and verifies cashier receipts at the end of the day. Processes batch software packets.
Performs other general customer service and collections activities as directed by the Operations Manager.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Education requirements refers to job specific training and education required for entry into the position.
Requires Associate’s degree or the equivalent of two years of college or vocational experience in accounting, or finance.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Licenses, certifications, and registrations refers to professional, state, or federal licenses, certifications, or registrations required to enter the position.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience refers to the amount of work experience that is required for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the tasks required by the position.
Requires two years of related experience.
