Job Description:

This role is responsible for supporting the execution of Global Financial Crimes (GFC) Investigations activities through the review, intake, and creation of financial crimes cases. Key responsibilities include conducting preliminary analysis of internal and external requests, evaluating information to determine appropriate case creation, documenting investigative referrals, and ensuring timely routing and escalation of potential financial crimes matters in accordance with Bank policies, regulatory requirements, and enterprise standards.

The associate serves as a critical first line of review within the investigations process by identifying potential financial crimes concerns, ensuring accurate case documentation, and supporting investigative teams through effective case development and intake management.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and maintenance of financial crimes owned policies and standards, and reviews relevant Front Line Units/Control Functions-owned policies and standards to ensure that regulatory requirements and operational risks are appropriately addressed
  • Assists in the production of independent financial crimes risk management reporting to Global Compliance & Operational Risk (GC&OR) Senior Leaders and FLU/CF Senior Leaders
  • Assists in the monitoring of changes in regulations applicable to Global Financial Crimes, including advising business leaders, directing the appropriate areas to implement or amend policies, standards, procedures and/or processes to address regulatory requirements, and challenging the implementation plan as needed
  • Review and analyze internal and external referrals, law enforcement requests, regulatory inquiries, and financial crimes-related submissions to determine appropriate action.
  • Create and document investigative cases in accordance with established procedures, quality standards, and service level expectations.
  • Perform preliminary research and analysis utilizing internal systems, customer information, transactional data, and external sources.
  • Evaluate referrals for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate risk indicators prior to case creation and assignment.
  • Manage inventory across multiple intake channels and queues while ensuring timely processing and escalation of high-priority items.
  • Support activities related to 314(a), 314(b), law enforcement requests, and other financial crimes investigative processes as applicable.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, or emerging risks and escalate findings to management as appropriate.
  • Ensure case documentation is clear, complete, and supports downstream investigative efforts.
  • Partner with Investigations, Compliance, Operations, Legal, and business line stakeholders to facilitate effective case handling.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on enhancing operational efficiency, quality, and risk mitigation.
  • Adhere to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), OFAC, and other regulatory requirements governing financial crimes activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum years business and functional experience: 3 Years experience in GFC, Investigations, or Law Enforcement
  • Understanding of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), OFAC, and other regulatory requirements governing financial crimes activities
