Description
The Role
As a Senior Litigation Attorney, you will independently manage a full caseload from intake through resolution, taking primary responsibility for strategy, written advocacy, and in-court representation. You'll work directly with clients and firm leadership on high-stakes matters, with the latitude to shape how each case is run.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage complex litigation matters from inception through trial or resolution
- Develop and execute case strategy, assess risk, and advise clients on litigation posture and options
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and legal memoranda with a high standard of written advocacy
- Conduct and defend depositions, and manage the full discovery process
- Appear regularly in Illinois state and federal courts for hearings, motions, and trial
- Manage client relationships and communicate case developments clearly and proactively
- Oversee and delegate work where appropriate to ensure timely, high-quality output

Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active Illinois Bar License in good standing
- Minimum 7 years of litigation experience
- Demonstrated courtroom, deposition, and case-management experience
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Proven ability to independently manage a full litigation caseload
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience across two or more of the firm's practice areas
- First-chair or significant second-chair trial experience
- Federal court and dispositive-motion practice
- A portable book of business or client relationships (a plus, not required)

- Base salary of $140,000–$185,000 per year, commensurate with experience
