Description
- Design and prepare menus that meet the dietary needs, nutritional standards, and preferences of residents.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and support of Deafway-catered events.
- Ensure compliance with environmental health, food hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
- Conduct and record mandated audits and checks.
- Lead a small team of kitchen staff, including supervision, professional development, and scheduling.
- Efficient management of stock control.
- Assist in the management of the Catering budget.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to accommodate special dietary requirements.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
- Engage with residents to gather feedback and continuously improve catering services.
- Oversee stock and provision of the bar.
- Certified in Food Hygiene Level 3 or higher.
- Expertise and certification in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Previous experience in a catering management role, preferably within a care home setting.
- Proficiency and certification in food safety and hygiene practices.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of dietary requirements for elderly residents.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with Deaf residents and staff.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation, including COSHH, food safety standards, and CQC fundamental standards, regulation 14.
- Experience in budget management.
- Experience with the safe use of kitchen equipment.
