Christiana Care Cancer Support Center at Union is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills.

 

Cancer Support Center at Union is in Elkton, Maryland. Our oncology team is dedicated to providing compassionate, advanced cancer care close to home. Our comprehensive program offers screening and detection services, inpatient and outpatient cancer care, infusion therapy, and patient support resources through our partnership with ChristianaCare’s Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute. Our specially trained oncology nurses provide expert care, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, therapeutic infusions, and transfusions, while Oncology Nurse Navigators help guide patients and families throughout their cancer journey. Cancer Program – ChristianaCare Cecil County

As a Medical Assistant I, you will assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments. This role is crucial for delivering quality patient care and encompasses various clinical and clerical duties within medical practice. 

Work Hours:

• Monday - Friday: 8am to 4:30pm

Duties / Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant I greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment. They manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.

Position Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or GED required.

• A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Hourly Pay Range: $19.10 - $27.69

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
