POSITION SUMMARY:
DuBois is seeking a commercially minded and execution-oriented Portfolio Director, Industrial Solutions, to lead growth for the largest business portfolios. Reports to the Vice-President of Portfolio Management and Marketing, this leader will own the portfolio strategy and be accountable for driving sustainable profitable growth through portfolio optimization, innovation, pricing excellence, new product commercialization, and market expansion. Successful candidates combine strong commercial experience with technical instincts, serving as a strategic business leader. Leads and influences cross-functional teams, connecting customer needs, market intelligence, innovation, and operations capabilities in designing and executing the portfolio’s growth roadmap. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Portfolio Strategy & Growth:
- Develop and execute a product portfolio strategy that accelerates profitable organic growth.
- Own the portfolio roadmap, balancing innovation, lifecycle management, pricing, customer value and operational complexity.
- Identify and evaluate whitespace opportunities through market analysis, voice of customer, competitive analysis and industry trends.
- Lead initiatives simplifying the portfolio by rationalizing brands and SKUs (Stock Keeping Units), improving sales focus on products that will generate the highest customer value.
- Develop compelling value propositions that differentiate our solutions and strengthen market position.
- Cultivate deep understanding of customer challenges, regulatory trends, competitive threats and opportunities.
Commercial & Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Lead pricing strategy, margin optimization and commercialization planning.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure successful commercialization and go-to-market execution.
- Support Enterprise account strategies through portfolio positioning, solutions development and engagement.
- Translate customer insights and market trends into actionable portfolio decisions that create measurable business value.
Innovation & Analytics:
- Partner with R&D, Marketing, and Sales developing and execution of a robust innovation pipeline.
- Lead the prioritization of new product initiatives based on market demand, technical feasibility, and financial returns.
- Improve launch effectiveness by establishing commercialization plans, business cases, milestones and new product demand planning.
- Leverage portfolio resources to optimize and improve the customer analytics platform as a competitive advantage.
Performance & Optimization
- Optimize the Industrial Solutions portfolio performance utilizing leading and laggings indicators: revenue growth, margins, market share, product vitality index.
- Lead regular portfolio reviews and make strategic recommendations on investments, expansion, rationalization and growth decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement in portfolio governance, resource allocation and processes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of experience in specialty chemicals or industrial markets.
- 5+ years leading product management, business, or marketing teams.
- Demonstrated success growing portfolio revenue, margin and market share.
- Experience commercializing new products from concept-to-launch.
- Strong understanding of pricing strategy, portfolio management and strategic business case development.
- Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking, and executive communications skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) , ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), business intelligence, or portfolio management tools preferred.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
