Responsibilities
What You’ll Do

- Assist customers with identifying and purchasing spare and replacement parts across multiple product lines.
- Use parts catalogs and computer systems to research part numbers, pricing, availability, and compatible replacements.
- Determine the correct replacement parts by reviewing existing components, customer requests, and equipment issue descriptions.
- Receive and process telephone and in-person parts orders.
- Fill customer orders accurately from available inventory.
- Calculate pricing and prepare sales quotes for single-part and multi-part orders.
- Prepare sales slips, contracts, and other transaction documentation.
- Process customer payments or obtain credit authorization.
- Recommend suitable substitutions or modifications when an identical replacement part is unavailable.
- Explain part features, applications, and equipment functionality to customers.
- Demonstrate equipment and provide clear product information.
- Inspect returned parts for defects and process exchanges or refunds according to company procedures.
- Receive, organize, label, and store parts using established stockroom procedures.
- Conduct inventory counts and help maintain accurate stock levels.
- Place new merchandise on display and maintain an organized parts area.
- Use precision measuring instruments to evaluate and compare parts when needed.
- Assist with repairing parts or equipment when appropriate.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two to four years of related parts, equipment, mechanical, retail parts, or customer service experience.
- Ability to complete detailed work accurately and thoroughly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to follow company policies and procedures.
- Ability to identify customer needs, research solutions, and communicate parts options clearly.
- Comfortable working with pricing, quotes, payments, and order documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Oracle experience is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with machines, equipment, or replacement parts are highly desirable.
Work Environment
This position works in a parts department and parts-storage environment. Some storage areas may not be air-conditioned.
