About Us
HireHawk connects skilled professionals with U.S. and Canadian companies because meaningful work should not depend on where you live. We build remote teams across Latin America, the Philippines, South Africa, Europe, and beyond, with clear expectations and dedicated team coordination and support.
About the Role
We're looking for a seasoned case manager to keep an assigned portfolio of California personal injury claims moving through pre-litigation. You'll help clients stay informed and follow through with treatment while keeping insurance follow-ups, documentation, and deadlines on track. This role offers day-to-day ownership, but requires someone who already understands U.S. PI fundamentals and can resolve routine issues with minimal training or supervision, escalating appropriately to attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Keep your assigned pre-litigation caseload progressing toward resolution by prioritizing next steps, monitoring deadlines, and closing outstanding follow-ups.
- Keep English- and Spanish-speaking clients informed about treatment progress and case status through clear, empathetic communication and persistent follow-through.
- Coordinate with medical providers to help clients attend appointments and complete recommended care, including MRIs, injections, and follow-up treatment.
- Review medical records and track treatment progress to identify treatment gaps, missing documentation, and issues that could delay case preparation.
- Obtain claim updates from insurance carriers, ensure policy searches are completed, and document coverage information, policy limits, and uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.
- Recognize when treatment authorization is needed and coordinate it within attorney-approved protocols, escalating legal or medical decisions to supervising attorneys.
- Resolve routine case issues independently and flag liability concerns, delays, or potential settlement obstacles that require attorney review.
- Maintain accurate, current case files in Maris Case, the firm's cloud-based case management platform, so case status, documentation, and next steps are easy to track.
- Collaborate with attorneys, case manager assistants, medical records personnel, and demand preparation staff to keep lien tracking, demand workflows, and pre-litigation settlement coordination on track.
