We believe that diverse perspectives drive the best solutions; that is why we foster an inclusive environment where your voice is heard, your curiosity is encouraged, and your professional development is a priority. We offer the opportunity to take true technical ownership of complex hardware while working alongside world-class experts who are dedicated to mentoring the next generation of engineering leaders.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and optimization of components across our gas power portfolio. You will collaborate with cross-functional, global teams to deliver high-quality solutions, drive product upgrades, and ensure our designs meet rigorous performance and safety standards. This role requires a balance of technical ownership, innovative problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Analysis: Execute mechanical design and analysis (stress, modal, lifing) for assigned components in gas turbines, steam, generators, and accessory systems.
  • Technical Stewardship: Take ownership of mechanical hardware; perform validation testing; and evaluate designs for factors like thermal growth, manufacturing variation, and assembly stack-up to ensure optimal product behavior.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering experts, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to optimize sub-systems and components.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead root cause analyses (RCA) to improve reliability, quality, and yield. Apply Lean principles to streamline processes and drive innovation.
  • Project Delivery: Manage milestones through formal/informal technical reviews, ensuring compliance with NPI processes and design practices.
  • Mentorship: Foster a collaborative environment by coaching team members and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Principal and Chief Engineers.

What You’ll Bring - Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field from an accredited institution.
  • 1-2 years of relevant Engineering experience.

What Will Make You Stand Out - Desired Qualifications:

  • Gas Power Edison Engineer; Completion of LPX, Teardown Training; Progress toward completion of Engineering Masters degree and/or ACE Certificate
  • Technical proficiency in engineering software (ANSYS, NX) and programming languages (Python, Excel VBA) for data analysis.
  • A "Lean" mindset, familiarity with AI-driven tools, and a passion for innovative design.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative, inclusive, and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with a transparent approach to project management and problem-solving.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
