The Quality Manager is responsible for the leadership, administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of the Company's Quality Management System (QMS), including ASME "U" and "R" Stamp programs, ISO 9001 certification, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B requirements, U.S. Navy programs, and customer-specific quality requirements.
This position serves as the designated quality authority for the Denton facility and has ownership of quality systems, certifications, audit programs, supplier quality processes, nonconformance management, product quality performance, and regulatory compliance. The Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of all quality programs while ensuring products and processes meet customer, regulatory, industry, and company requirements.
The Quality Manager independently exercises quality authority to identify nonconforming conditions, reject nonconforming materials or products, stop work when necessary to ensure compliance, and enforce quality standards required to maintain certifications and regulatory approvals. The role provides leadership and direction to quality personnel, serves as the primary interface with customers, auditors, inspectors, and certification bodies, and collaborates closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, and Project Management to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Quality Management System Leadership
- Own, maintain, and continuously improve the Company's Quality Management System and associated quality programs.
- Maintain compliance with applicable standards, certifications, and customer requirements, including:
- ASME "U" Stamp Program
- ASME "R" Stamp Program
- ISO 9001
- 10 CFR 50 Appendix B
- U.S. Navy quality programs
- Customer-specific quality requirements
- Serve as the designated management representative responsible for maintaining the effectiveness and integrity of quality systems and certifications.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and revise quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, forms, and quality documentation.
- Ensure document control processes are maintained, including revision management and retention of quality records.
- Maintain digital quality records in an organized manner with clear revision control and accessibility.
Quality Authority and Compliance
- Exercise independent authority to stop work activities when quality, code, regulatory, or customer requirements are not being met.
- Reject nonconforming materials, components, assemblies, and finished products when requirements are not satisfied.
- Interpret and enforce applicable quality standards, specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
- Ensure organizational compliance with all quality-related regulatory, industry, and customer standards.
- Assess the impact of regulatory or code changes, communicate potential impacts to leadership, and ensure timely implementation.
Audits and Regulatory Oversight
- Plan, conduct, and oversee internal audits supporting all quality programs and certifications.
- Serve as the Company's primary representative during customer audits, certification audits, regulatory inspections, and requalification activities.
- Coordinate responses to audit findings and verify completion and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Maintain audit readiness across all quality programs and certifications.
- Liaise with customers, regulatory agencies, third-party auditors, certification providers, and inspection organizations regarding quality system compliance.
Supplier Quality Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain supplier qualification and surveillance programs.
- Establish supplier quality requirements in collaboration with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams.
- Conduct supplier audits, evaluations, and performance assessments.
- Work with suppliers to investigate quality concerns and implement effective corrective actions.
- Maintain supplier approval records and ongoing supplier performance monitoring activities.
Product Quality and Manufacturing Support
- Ensure products meet customer requirements, engineering specifications, applicable codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review product specifications and manufacturing requirements to ensure compliance.
- Support Operations and Engineering in the development, validation, and implementation of manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate quality activities associated with third-party inspectors and customer representatives visiting the Denton facility.
- Support product acceptance activities and ensure compliance throughout manufacturing processes.
Nonconformance and Continuous Improvement
- Manage the Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) system and related workflows.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action activities.
- Ensure timely disposition and closure of quality issues and corrective actions.
- Monitor and report cost of quality metrics.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, 8D, and other quality improvement methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to improve quality, reduce waste, increase efficiency, and strengthen customer satisfaction.
Welding and Special Process Quality
- Manage welder qualification programs and ensure compliance with applicable ASME and customer requirements.
- Support development, qualification, and maintenance of welding procedures and special process qualifications.
- Maintain records associated with welder certifications and qualification requirements.
- Ensure welding and special process activities comply with applicable standards and customer specifications.
Leadership and Team Development
- Directly supervise quality personnel and provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Assign and prioritize departmental workloads to achieve quality objectives and customer expectations.
- Provide technical direction and guidance to quality inspectors and other quality staff.
- Develop and conduct training programs related to quality systems, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, and Project Management to improve performance and customer outcomes.
Reporting
- Develop and maintain quality performance metrics and key performance indicators.
- Prepare and present monthly quality reports summarizing:
- NCR trends
- Corrective action status
- Audit results
- Supplier performance
- Cost of quality
- Customer quality concerns
- Continuous improvement activities
- Communicate quality risks, trends, and improvement opportunities to site and business leadership.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Authority and Accountability
The Quality Manager possesses independent authority necessary to maintain compliance with applicable quality systems, certifications, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations.
This authority includes the ability to:
- Stop work activities when quality requirements are not being met.
- Reject nonconforming materials, assemblies, processes, and finished products.
- Initiate corrective actions to address quality system deficiencies.
- Provide technical direction to quality inspectors and quality personnel.
- Interpret and enforce applicable quality requirements and standards.
- Serve as the primary representative during external audits, regulatory inspections, and certification reviews.
- Maintain organizational independence from manufacturing operations to ensure objective and unbiased quality oversight.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Seven (7) or more years of progressive quality management experience in industrial manufacturing environments.
- Experience administering and owning ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience administering ASME quality programs and fabrication code requirements.
- Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments, including nuclear, power generation, energy, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
- Experience leading internal and external audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Supervisory experience leading quality personnel and quality-related activities.
- Experience with nonconformance management, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

This position will be located in the Addison, TX office. This is not a fully remote role. The Recruiting Operations Associate serves as operational support for the recruiting function by managing interview logistics, reporting, supporting recruiting workflows, data management, and supporting talent acquisition programs.
