Job Title: Associate Auditor – Greenhouse Gas Verifier

We have several opportunities for Auditors based in South Africa to join us on a contract/contingency basis.

What You'll Be Doing:

Greenhouse gas verifiers are responsible for delivering BSI’s services to assigned clients in accordance with all BSI, scheme, and regulatory requirements to ensure timely, cost-effective service delivery that assures satisfaction of our customers' needs. The individual will conduct various types of audits.

• Verification of data as required by our client in accordance with regulated schemes (e.g., CBAM), voluntary accredited schemes (e.g., 14064-1, 14068), and project-specific internal and supplier audit protocols
• Creation of verification opinions and issuing them to clients
• Prepare assessment reports and deliver findings to clients to ensure client understanding of the assessment decision and clear direction to particular items of corrective action where appropriate.
• Ensure that value is added to customers and their business/organisation through the assessment of their systems and processes against BSI requirements
• Continually enhance & uphold the reputation and perception of BSI through excellent planning, delivery, report writing and day-to-day interactions with customers and other key stakeholders
• Provide accurate and prompt information to support services, working closely with them to ensure that client records are up to date and complete and that all other internal information requirements are met. 

What We're Looking For

We're looking for professionals who bring strong technical knowledge, attention to detail and a genuine interest in environmental sustainability.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proven 2-year industry experience/knowledge/qualifications related to area of expertise
• Proven experience in the verification of GHG data, working with Regulatory and/or voluntary emission schemes (e.g. ISO 14064- 3, ISO 14068, CBAM)
• Ability to manage large volumes of data and documentation in a systematic and accurate manner
• High level of knowledge of how emissions of greenhouse gases can lead to climate change and technology and techniques which can help reduce emissions of GHG
• Awareness of current environmental issues relating to emissions, waste, water, biodiversity and resource consumption
• Engaging & highly skilled communicator, able to convey clear messages in a compelling and coherent way
• Ability to produce high-quality professional reports at a reasonable pace, explaining technical issues and demonstrating added value.
• Proven administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage customer expectations
• Ability to respond quickly and accurately to queries raised during technical reviews of verification projects

Desirable

• Dutch language skills would be highly valued.
