Salish Cancer Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) – Medical Oncology/Hematology to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. This is an opportunity to provide meaningful, patient-centered care to individuals and families navigating the challenges of cancer diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.

The ARNP plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive, evidence-based oncology care, managing treatment-related symptoms and complications, and supporting patients throughout their cancer care journey. The ideal candidate combines strong clinical judgment and oncology expertise with a genuine commitment to compassionate communication, patient education, and collaborative care.

If you are passionate about improving patient outcomes and making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families, we invite you to explore this opportunity at Salish Cancer Center.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide Comprehensive Patient Care: Conduct detailed patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and reviews of laboratory, imaging, pathology, and diagnostic results.
  • Diagnose and Manage Medical Conditions: Evaluate and manage acute and chronic conditions, with an emphasis on oncology and cancer-related care, within the ARNP's scope of practice.
  • Develop Individualized Treatment Plans: Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and the multidisciplinary care team to establish, implement, and evaluate appropriate treatment plans.
  • Manage Cancer Treatment: Monitor patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, and other systemic cancer treatments, including treatment response, adverse effects, and complications.
  • Prescribe Medications and Treatments: Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Washington State laws, organizational policies, clinical guidelines, and professional scope of practice.
  • Educate Patients and Families: Explain diagnoses, treatment options, medications, symptom management, disease progression, follow-up care, prognosis, and goals of care.
  • Coordinate Continuity of Care: Facilitate referrals, follow-up services, and communication among oncologists, specialists, primary care providers, nursing staff, pharmacists, and other healthcare resources.
  • Maintain Clinical Documentation: Complete accurate and timely documentation of assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, patient communications, and follow-up care in the electronic medical record.
  • Support Quality and Patient Safety: Participate in multidisciplinary care planning, quality improvement, utilization review, and initiatives that enhance clinical outcomes and the patient experience.
  • Maintain Professional and Regulatory Compliance: Follow applicable laws, regulations, credentialing requirements, professional standards, and organizational policies while maintaining current knowledge of evidence-based oncology practices.

What You Bring:

  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current, unrestricted Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license in Washington State.
  • Current national board certification appropriate to the ARNP's area of practice.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Appropriate prescribing authority and controlled substance registration, as applicable to the position.
  • Ability to meet all organizational credentialing and privileging requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced nursing practice, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management.
  • Strong understanding of applicable federal and Washington State healthcare regulations and professional practice standards.
  •  Minimum of (3) three years previous experience in medical oncology/hematology, or another specialty cancer-care setting.
  • Experience managing patients receiving systemic cancer treatments and addressing cancer-related symptoms and treatment toxicities.
  • Oncology-specific certification, such as Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP), or the ability to obtain certification within one (1) year of employment.
