The Vice President, mRNA CDMO is responsible for driving strategic and operational leadership for Aldevron’s mRNA business.

This position reports to the Vice President, Business Unit & General Manager CDMO and is part of the Aldevron Business Unit located in Fargo, ND and will be fully remote.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Define and execute the strategic direction for the mRNA portfolio, with accountability for growth, profitability, portfolio performance, and long-term business outcomes.
  • Establish portfolio priorities, investment decisions, pricing strategies, and lifecycle plans that align customer needs, market opportunities, and business objectives.
  • Translate customer insights, competitive intelligence, emerging technologies, and industry trends into differentiated value propositions and future portfolio roadmaps.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing product management team through managers and senior leaders, ensuring strong talent, succession planning, and organizational capability.
  • Establish governance processes that connect product strategy to operating plans, revenue growth, margin improvement, innovation priorities, and operational readiness.
  • Partner with Commercial, R&D, Operations, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, and Strategy leaders to align resources, investments, capacity plans, and execution priorities.
  • Serve as the executive spokesperson for the mRNA portfolio, influencing senior stakeholders, leading strategic decision making, and engaging key customers and industry partners.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 13+ years of experience in product management, strategic marketing, commercial leadership, business strategy, or general management within life sciences, bioprocessing, genomic medicine, CDMO, mRNA, nucleic acids, biologics, or related markets.
  • Demonstrated experience leading managers and senior professionals in a complex, matrixed business environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute portfolio strategy, product lifecycle management, market-back planning, and cross-functional governance processes.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen with experience driving revenue growth, profitability, customer value, and competitive differentiation.
  • Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and leading strategic decision making across Commercial, R&D, Operations, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Experience resolving complex business challenges that require balancing customer, technical, operational, regulatory, financial, and commercial considerations; FDA-regulated industry experience preferred.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Direct experience leading mRNA, genomic medicine, cell and gene therapy, biologics, or advanced therapeutics portfolios in a CDMO, biotech, or life sciences environment.
  • Prior Sr. level accountability with demonstrated success driving business growth, profitability, and strategic investment decisions.
  • Experience leading global commercial expansion, portfolio transformation, acquisitions/integrations, or new market entry initiatives within a highly regulated industry.

The salary range for this role is $240,000 - $300,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
