Description
The Traffic Control Supervisor is responsible for safely directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic throughout assigned areas
in the City of Burbank. This role supports public safety and efficient traffic flow while ensuring compliance with
established procedures and City guidelines.
This is a part-time role that requires a flexible schedule, including the possibility of last-minute assignments as well as
work on weekends and outside normal business hours (after 5 p.m.). Every effort will be made to provide as much
advance notice as possible for all assignments.
Principal Job Duties:
• Direct and manage vehicle and pedestrian traffic in designated areas across the City of Burbank.
• Develop, coordinate, and maintain traffic control officer shift schedules based on City assignments and
operational needs.
• Design and deliver traffic control training programs to ensure staff are properly trained and compliant with
safety standards.
• Perform duties independently or collaboratively as part of a team, reporting to a designated supervisor.
• Follow established policies, procedures, and instructions to effectively carry out job responsibilities.
Education/Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least one-year experience in conducting traffic control directing traffic and pedestrians.
• At least one-year experience in a supervisory role.
• Must be able to pass background and motor vehicle report (MVR) check.

• Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel.
• Familiar with radio codes and using 2-way radios.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Commitment to safety, reliability, and adherence to established guidelines.
Physical Demands:
• Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
• Ability to lift, push and pull at least 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time (95-100% of shift) - no sitting is allowed.
• Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
