Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Hospital Emergency Response in Hopewell, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and communicating with appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including entrances, public spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter, while observing and reporting unusual activity or conditions.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entry points, verifying authorization as required, and directing patients and visitors to appropriate areas.
• Document incidents, observations, and security-related concerns accurately and promptly in accordance with site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Be willing to work in and around hospital morgue areas.
• Be able to assist with restraining individuals when necessary.
• Possess at least two years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
