Description

As Quality Manager Vietnam, you will manage the Quality function for Vietnam operations, ensuring quality management systems, customer satisfaction, supplier quality, and successful new product introduction/localization. Improve and quality excellence according to quality strategies.

You will directly report to Regional Quality Manager


Main Responsibilities


1. Quality Management System (QMS)

• Maintain the Vietnam Quality Management System following corporate, customer, regulatory, and applicable ISO requirements.

• Lead internal, corporate, and certification audits, including corrective action and effectiveness verification.

• Support site for customer audit if required.

• Ensure quality procedures, SOPs, work instructions, quality records, and controls are properly established and maintained.


2. New Product Introduction (NPI) and Localization

• Provide Quality leadership for new product introduction, product/process transfer, and localization projects.

• Establish quality requirements, quality gates, risk assessments, PFMEA/FMEA, Control Plans, inspection standards, and validation requirements.

• Ensure quality readiness from development and trial production through commercialization and mass production.


3. Customer Quality & Complaint Management

• Support customer complaint investigation if required, containment, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and closure.

• Ensure timely 8D/RCA responses to customers.

• Guide problem solving using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, A3, Kepner-Tregoe, and other appropriate methodologies.

• Monitor customer quality performance and guide reduction of complaints, severity, and Cost of Poor Quality.


4. Supplier Quality & Supplier Audit

• Establish and manage the supplier quality management program.

• Lead supplier qualification, supplier performance monitoring, supplier development, and risk-based supplier audits.

• Conduct/lead supplier QMS and process audits and ensure corrective actions.

• Work with Procurement, Engineering, and suppliers to improve supplier quality and support material/product localization.


5. Quality Performance & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor Vietnam quality KPIs and improvement targets aligned with AP and Global.

• Identify systemic quality risks and lead improvement projects.

• Guide reduction of internal defects, scrap, rework, customer complaints, supplier defects, and Cost of Poor Quality.

• Promote preventive quality and structured problem-solving culture across the organization.


6. Regional Quality Leadership

• Represent Vietnam Quality in APAC/regional quality forums and plans.

• Align Vietnam quality systems, standards, KPIs, and improvement programs with regional/global requirements.

• Share best practices and lessons learned across Vietnam and the APAC Quality organization.

• Develop and train the Vietnam Quality team and build organizational quality capability.


Qualifications


· Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Chemistry, Manufacturing, Quality, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.

· 10+ years of Quality experience with experience in a multinational manufacturing environment.

· At least 5 years of experience in a Quality management role.

· Strong experience in: Quality Management System, Customer complaint management, 8D / RCA / CAPA, Supplier quality and supplier audits, NPI / product and process localization, Internal and external audits, Quality KPI management, Continuous improvement.

· Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF16949 and industry/customer quality requirements.

· Working knowledge of FMEA/PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, APQP/PPAP or equivalent quality tools.

· Strong English communication skills; Vietnamese language capability is required for Vietnam operations.

· Willingness to travel within Vietnam and internationally.
