Location: Fullerton (Hampshire) with travel across the surrounding operational area. Hybrid working. (Full Driving licence is essential due to site visit requirement)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Up to £53,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience

 

About the role

Looking for a leadership role where no two days are the same?

 

We're looking for a Field Performance Manager to lead the operation and performance of a large, geographically dispersed portfolio of wastewater treatment sites across the Winchester area.

 

This is a key operational leadership role responsible for ensuring our treatment assets are operated safely, efficiently and compliantly, whilst delivering excellent service to our customers and protecting the environment.

 

You'll lead a team of operators and assistant managers across a diverse catchment that includes both large strategic treatment works and smaller remote satellite sites. Success in this role is about creating a high-performing, engaged team, building strong relationships and ensuring consistent operational standards across multiple locations.

 

Working closely with operational colleagues, engineering teams, process specialists and external partners, you'll play a vital role in maintaining asset performance and driving continuous improvement throughout the area.

 

What will you be doing?

• Leading, coaching and developing a team of operational colleagues to deliver safe, compliant and efficient asset performance
• Managing the operational performance of multiple wastewater treatment sites across your area
• Creating an engaged, high-performing culture through effective leadership and communication
• Monitoring operational performance and taking proactive action to address issues and risks
• Driving improvements in productivity, efficiency, compliance and service delivery
• Working collaboratively with engineering, process science and support teams to resolve operational challenges
• Ensuring all operational activities are carried out in accordance with health, safety and environmental requirements
• Managing contractors and external stakeholders where required
• Supporting incident management and operational response activities, including participation in an out-of-hours rota
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement that benefit customers, colleagues and the environment

 

What are we looking for?

 

We're open to candidates from a variety of industries and backgrounds. Whilst experience within the water sector would be advantageous, it's not essential.

 

What matters most is your ability to lead operational teams within a process-driven, safety-conscious environment.

 

You'll ideally bring:

• Proven leadership experience managing operational teams
• Experience leading teams across multiple locations or remote working environments
• A strong focus on health, safety and operational compliance
• Experience working within a safety-critical or highly regulated industry
• The ability to prioritise effectively and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing and empowering others
• Knowledge of treatment processes or process-based operations would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in leaders who can transfer their experience from other operational environments.
