Lead Design Engineer - Materials & Manufacturing Process

The Lead Engineer, will support nuclear business projects with specialist materials knowledge across the whole range of products and services. He/she will be part of a team and will provide direct specialist support, in a context of increased complexity of projects and fast changes while maintaining conformity to design intent, codes, standards and quality.

Main Duties

·        Support material selection appropriate to equipment design and function.

·        Support the maintenance and development of specifications for material and material processing within the context of any applied codes and standards, e.g. Pressure Equipment Directive.

·        Execute and support the review of manufacturing methods for production of castings, forgings, fabrications and finishing processes across the full scope of products for the nuclear business.

·        Liaise with Supplier Quality Engineers and support with supplier qualification where appropriate.

·        Review and respond to supplier derogation requests and non-conformance reports.

·        Support internal manufacturing activities.
