Software Engineering Team Lead

This is not a purely people-management role. It needs a technical leader who can guide engineering decisions, mentor developers and take accountability for delivery quality. The core challenge is to help a team build robust, scalable systems while improving how work is planned, delivered, reviewed and supported.

A strong performer will help the team raise engineering standards, improve delivery confidence and build software that is reliable enough for high-volume financial services use cases.

Profile for Success

The strongest candidates will be able to evidence:

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Engineering Team Lead or similar.
• Strong hands-on backend development experience in PHP.
• Experience with Symfony or a comparable PHP framework.
• Practical exposure to microservices and scalable backend system design.
• Experience applying domain-driven design or similar architecture principles in real systems.
• Strong Git-based engineering workflow experience, including pull requests, code reviews and collaborative development.
• Experience working in Agile, cross-functional delivery environments.
• A track record of mentoring developers or leading projects, even if not formally titled as a Team Lead.
• Clear ownership of delivery outcomes, quality and technical decisions.
