Peripatetic Manager – Learning Disabilities
Location: North London, Hertfordshire and Peterborough.
Salary: £42,000 - £46,000 per annum
As a Peripatetic Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our specialist Learning Disability services across North London, Hertfordshire and Peterborough. This is a varied and rewarding leadership position where no two days are the same.
Working across multiple services, you will provide management cover during periods of annual leave, vacancies or absence, ensuring continuity of high-quality, person-centred care. Alongside operational leadership, you will support services through periods of improvement and recovery, helping teams embed best practice, strengthen governance and achieve positive regulatory outcomes.
You will work closely with Registered Managers and senior leaders to drive quality improvements, prepare for inspections, support new service developments and improve occupancy by assisting with admissions .
This role is ideal for an experienced social care leader who enjoys working in different environments, building high-performing teams and making a lasting impact on the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership and Registered Manager cover across multiple services.
- Support services through improvement, recovery and regulatory action plans.
- Drive quality assurance, governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support CQC compliance and inspection readiness.
- Lead on service mobilisation, transitions and operational projects.
- Ensure people supported receive safe, effective, person-centred care that promotes independence and positive outcomes.
About You
- Has previous experience as a Registered Manager or senior leader within adult social care.
- Has a strong understanding of Learning Disabilities, Autism, person-centred care, and Positive Behaviour Support.
- Has a good working knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, governance, and quality assurance.
- Is confident leading services through periods of change, improvement, and transition.
- Can quickly build positive relationships with teams, people we support, families, and external professionals.
- Is adaptable, resilient, and able to work across multiple services and locations.
- Has excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Is passionate about developing teams and driving continuous improvement.
- Is committed to delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care that achieves positive outcomes.
- Holds a full UK driving licence and is willing to travel regularly across North London, Hertfordshire, and Peterborough.
