POSITION SUMMARY

Our Mountain Banquets team needs a leader.  Must have at least two (2) years of relevant food service experience or comparative education, math skills, and effectively communicate in English.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Delegate tasks and assign workstations for banquet staff

  • Ensure that all events are set up and executed according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and company standards

  • Provide training and guidance to new and existing banquet personnel

  • Hold pre-shift meetings to review event details, special requests, and service standards with the team

  • Oversee all aspects of food and beverage service, ensuring quality standards and timely delivery of all courses

  • Monitor service flow and make real-time adjustments as needed to ensure efficiency and exceptional service

  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in all banquet areas before, during, and after the event

  • Be aware of banquet supplies, equipment, and linens inventory. Inform Manager as needed.

  • Conduct post-event duties, including supervising breakdown, resetting of space, completing necessary reports including consumption tabs, sign in sheets and end of event recap

  • Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, uniform and hygiene regulations.

  • Plan, supervise, and coordinate the daily operations of assigned banquets

  • Consults with Banquet Manager or Executive Chef of such items as serving arrangements, additional employees, and equipment

  • Develops and implements hiring and training programs to ensure all positions are adequately staffed with trained personnel

  • Supervise and assist with all operations which may include: setting tables, stocking service stations, taking orders from customers and serving, clearing and cleaning tables, setting up bars and other service stations as needed

  • Provide superior service to all customers (internal and external) at all times.

  • Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous efficient manner

  • Ensure understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous banquet experience preferred

  • Must have at least two years of relevant food service experience or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired

  • Basic administrative, math and supervisory skills and some previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Experience working with a variety of commercial food service equipment preferred

  • Must adhere to all safety policies

  • Problem solve in a highly effective manner and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff, including management, subordinates and co-workers

  • Be a consistent role model for company’s Service Excellence standards

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must communicate clearly in the English language

  • Must be a minimum 18 years of age

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay: Starting at $12.40 per hour plus tips
