Full-time or Part-time | Flexible Monday–Friday Rota | 1:4 Saturdays | 1:13 Sundays

The Vet Office is recruiting an Experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and progressive practice in beautiful County Wicklow. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced vet looking for flexibility, a varied caseload, and a supportive team that values clinical excellence and professional development.

The Role

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will:

  • Provide high-quality medical and surgical care to small animal patients.
  • Diagnose, investigate and manage a wide variety of medical and surgical cases.
  • Take full responsibility for patient care, ensuring excellent case continuity.
  • Perform consultations, routine surgeries and medical case work-ups.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
  • Prescribe and dispense medications appropriately while supporting stock management.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, discussing treatment plans and providing estimates.
  • Promote preventative healthcare and pet wellness plans.
  • Work closely with the veterinary and nursing team to provide outstanding patient care.
  • Support colleagues through knowledge sharing and clinical guidance.
  • Ensure accurate billing and maintain high clinical standards.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • MVB, DVM or an equivalent Veterinary Degree.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI).
  • At least 3 years' experience in small animal practice.
  • Confidence in consultations, routine surgery and case management.
  • A particular interest in surgery would be highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • A proactive attitude and commitment to continuous professional development.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team.
