JOB SUMMARY:Within the context of a client/resident and family centred care model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position performs clerical duties in support of health records management, obtains information required in the admission of patients to the facility, emergency, acute and residential care, completes admission documentation, discharge documentation, and maintains patient files accordingly. Receives, records and accounts for payments received in accordance with policies and procedures. Responsibilities include pulling, distributing, retrieving, assembling, reviewing and filing health records and reports. Releases information to authorized personnel in accordance with established standards and procedures, conducts censuses on charts. Schedule and books appointments. Performs reception and information services by receiving visitors, as well as answering telephones.QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Grade 12, plus one year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to keyboard at 45 wpm.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to deal with others effectively.Ability to organize work.Ability to operate related equipment.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
