Position Summary
The main responsibility of the Wastewater Technician oversees the daily processes of the tank wash
under the direction of the Tank Wash Manager while following all company safety policies, procedures and environmental requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with DHEC regulations regarding the existing “pump & haul permit” currently
in place in Joliet.
• Ensure daily boiler test requirements required by Total Clean and DHEC are complied with.
• Maintain, repair, and keep wastewater treatment plant and equipment in excellent condition at
all times.
• Monitor and control all wastewater treatment chemicals and keep inventory at acceptable
levels at all times.
• Keep wastewater treatment plant clean and clutter free at all times.
• Inform Tank Wash Manager and Terminal Manager of any concerns regarding quality of influent
wastewater aka heel collection.
• Ability to read and comprehend SDS’s.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Highly, self-motivated individual
• Understands the job requirements and the necessity of seeing a job to completion
• Detail oriented
• Excellent organization skills, able to multitask, prioritize and pay attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Must be 18 years of age or older
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience
Physical Demands:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
• May be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hand and arms, and stoop,
kneel or crouch as needed.
• Required to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Climb ladders and or stairs for cleaning duties.
• Work extended (> 8 hrs.) time periods.
• Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, color
vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• The position requires frequent draining into and carrying of buckets.
• The position is responsible for connecting and disconnecting of hoses.
• This position requires frequent pressure washing.
• Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Language Skills:
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
Work Environment:
• Work in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions: including extreme
heat and cold while wearing various levels of personal protective equipment.
• Work with cleaning chemicals and wear appropriate PPE for the environment.
• Work in potentially elevated noise levels, confined spaces, including lifting in areas of low
clearance. Working at elevations including working from ladders and scaffolding up to eight feet
above ground.
• Periodically perform work in other areas of the facility as directed by the Management

Salary Range:
Disclaimer: The starting salary for this position is $20.00 to $24.00. This range is based on market data and internal equity. The final offer will be determined by various factors, including the candidates experience, education, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
