Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Account Executive to support their Program Group underwriting team. This role serves as a key right-hand partner to the Lead Underwriter, helping manage and triage inbound submissions from retail agents, identify viable opportunities, and support the underwriting process from intake through decision. This is a high-visibility role ideal for someone looking to grow into a more advanced underwriting or account executive position over time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, triage, and manage inbound submissions from retail agents, filtering opportunities based on program appetite and underwriting guidelines.
- Conduct initial risk reviews to determine submission completeness, eligibility, and overall viability prior to underwriter review.
- Serve as the primary support partner to the Lead Underwriter, assisting with file preparation, follow-ups, and workflow management.
- Communicate directly with retail agents to request missing information, clarify exposures, and follow up on pending submissions.
- Organize and prioritize submission flow to ensure timely underwriting review and responsiveness to agents.
- Prepare underwriting files, summaries, and supporting documentation to facilitate efficient underwriting decisions.
- Track submission status, document activity, and maintain accurate records within underwriting systems.
- Support renewal preparation, endorsements, and ongoing servicing as needed.
- Assist in identifying process improvements to help reduce bottlenecks and improve submission turnaround times.
- Collaborate closely with underwriting leadership to ensure alignment with program goals and risk appetite.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in an underwriting support, underwriting assistant, or similar insurance role (program business preferred).
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance submissions and underwriting workflows.
- Experience working with retail agents and managing high submission volume.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in agent-facing correspondence.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to evaluate submissions for completeness and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and underwriting/agency management systems.
- Desire and aptitude to grow into a more advanced underwriting or account-focused role over time.
Salary & Benefits:
- $65,000 – $75,000 base salary
