The Opportunity
Verify is seeking a Project Manager to support an aerospace customer’s work transfer, design change implementation, and supplier qualification activities. The Project Manager will coordinate work from initial requirements through supplier execution, data submission, review, and approval, helping teams resolve missing inputs early and keep projects moving.
This role emphasizes organized execution, proactive follow-up, and effective communication. Work will follow established processes and checklists, with technical direction, training, and escalation support provided by experienced customer subject-matter experts..
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate assigned projects involving source transfers, part or configuration changes, manufacturing process changes, new equipment, or supplier automation.
- Facilitate milestone management and data flows between customer engineering, customer quality, and suppliers; maintain schedules, action owners, and commitment dates.
- Schedule and facilitate stakeholder meetings to review and complete defined technical checklists, ensuring validation and qualification plans are established and understood by all parties.
- Maintain the Project Management Checklist covering all aspects of the workflow and technical plans to improve first-pass success through submission, review, and approval workflows.
- Coordinate confirmation of applicable qualification and substantiation requirements with the responsible technical experts, including supplier, sub-tier, and laboratory requirements.
- Follow up with action owners to ensure commitment dates are met; escalate barriers or risks to the customer promptly. Track and communicate approved requirement changes.
- Monitor supplier deliverables, including FAI documentation and supporting qualification records; check submission completeness against established requirements before routing for technical review.
- Coordinate document uploads, review comments, corrective actions, and resubmissions through final approval by authorized customer personnel.
- Maintain accurate project status in Smartsheet and customer systems, including the digital thread application, following applicable access and document-control requirements.
- Report project aging, lead time, rework, missing inputs, and barriers; support baseline and pilot performance comparisons.
Required Qualifications
- Project management or project coordination experience, including milestone tracking, stakeholder facilitation, and action follow-up in manufacturing, quality, or a related environment.
- Basic knowledge of aerospace quality management systems and work transfer processes, including controlled documentation, drawing revisions, and approval workflows.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments using schedules, checklists, action trackers, and clear priorities.
- Ability to recognize missing or conflicting information and obtain clarification from the appropriate technical authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to lead meetings, pursue outstanding actions, and escalate barriers constructively.
- Ability to work independently within defined processes while seeking technical guidance when needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams, and experience with Smartsheet or comparable project-tracking tools.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with customer and supplier teams in a remote working environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting supplier qualification, source transfers, manufacturing changes, or new product introduction.
- Familiarity with aerospace FAI documentation and AS9102-based workflows.
- Working familiarity with APQP and PPAP deliverables and their role in supplier qualification; customer experts will guide project-specific requirements.
- Experience working with engineering, quality, sourcing, and suppliers to resolve documentation or submission issues.
- Experience tracking lead time, rework, project aging, and milestone performance.
- Familiarity with customer portals, digital thread systems, or other controlled manufacturing and quality applications.
Technical Support and Decision Authority
Customer technical experts will define and approve technical requirements, determine the necessary qualification or substantiation scope, and make acceptance decisions. The project manager will coordinate execution, verify that required inputs are obtained, and route technical questions and approval requests to those authorized experts. Specialized expertise in every manufacturing process is not required.
Measures of Success
- Transactional rework count for deliverables, workflow, and technical plans, compared with established process baselines.
- Lead time reduction, measured in days, for assigned workflows or projects against agreed baselines.
- Complete checklists, accurate milestone status, and timely action follow-up and escalation support these outcomes.
