ZI465 - Full-Time Live-Out Chef - Notting Hill, London

Overview

A busy, fast-paced family of 6 seeks a fantastic private chef to join them in January 2027.  This is a full-time, Monday through Friday role, generally from 1-8pm daily, although some flexibility around hours would be appreciated to accommodate for dinner parties and occasional events.  The family travels extensively during school holidays, so the chef will have most of this time off.  This is not set in stone, though, and there may be times when the family stay in London for extended periods, or when they require the chef to accompany them on their trip.  This will be agreed in advance, and the chef must be able to accommodate the family's travel plans, needs and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, fresh and healthy family dinners.  The family appreciate seasonal, nutritionally balanced meals cooked from scratch, avoiding processed ingredients, refined carbs and added sugar whenever possible
• Prep for breakfasts and weekend meals
• Weekly menu planning
• Thoughtful sourcing and purchasing of premium organic ingredients
• Kitchen inventory and stock management
• Maintain an organised kitchen
• Ensure excellent food safety and hygiene
• Regular expense reporting (at least weekly)
• Plan and prepare bespoke dinners for extended family and guests 

Requirements

• The successful chef must have experience in both restaurant (preferably Michelin) and private household environments.
• Longevity in previous positions
• Professional and discreet approach to supporting the family
• Confident with a range of international cuisines to include Mediterannean, Japanese, SE Asian, French etc
• Comfortable preparing sophisticated, beautifully presented, and delicious meals for all the family
• Pitch-in, family-first approach - happy to help with general clearing and tidying of the kitchen, and to work collaboratively with wider household team
• Impeccable personal presentation
• Flexible around the schedule 
• Available to travel with the family if required
• Must be familiar working with a busy family, and around family pets

Salary and Benefits

• Around £65,000, DOE
• Potentially up to 8 weeks of paid holiday per year, depending on the family's schedule
