Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is hiring a dependable Unarmed Gate Security Officer to manage vehicle access and monitor activity at an assigned property in the Nederland area. This position plays an important role in maintaining controlled entry, assisting authorized visitors, and supporting the security team with daily operations.

The ideal candidate is comfortable driving in changing weather conditions, communicates clearly with vendors and visitors, and can respond calmly when unexpected situations arise. Reliability, sound judgment, and attention to detail are essential for this overnight assignment.
 

What You Will Do

• Monitor the entrance and oversee vehicle traffic to help maintain orderly and controlled access.
• Verify the purpose of each visit and communicate with vendors before permitting entry.
• Provide clear instructions to drivers and visitors regarding entry procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of arrivals, departures, and other required access information.
• Observe activity around the entrance and report suspicious behavior or unusual conditions.
• Respond promptly to incidents and notify the appropriate personnel when additional assistance is needed.
• Maintain regular communication with the roving security officer to coordinate coverage and share relevant updates.
• Assist the on-site security team with operational needs and situations requiring additional support.
• Operate a vehicle safely in snow, rain, and other challenging weather conditions.
• Follow assigned instructions, company procedures, and established access-control requirements.
• Prepare clear and timely reports documenting incidents, observations, and shift activity.
• Maintain a professional and helpful approach when interacting with vendors, visitors, and authorized personnel.
   

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to drive safely in inclement weather and changing road conditions.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout overnight shifts.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to assess situations and respond appropriately to unexpected incidents.
• Ability to follow instructions, maintain accurate records, and communicate important information.
• Professional demeanor when interacting with visitors, vendors, and coworkers.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with other security personnel.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in security, gate access control, traffic monitoring, or a similar role.
• Familiarity with visitor check-in procedures and maintaining entry logs.
• Experience communicating with vendors, delivery personnel, and site representatives.
• Previous experience working overnight shifts or in outdoor environments.
