Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is hiring a dependable Unarmed Security Officer to support assignments throughout the Denver area. This position is suited to a professional who can adapt to changing shift requirements, follow location-specific instructions, and maintain a consistent standard of service across different work environments.

Officers help protect people and property through regular patrols, access monitoring, observation, and timely reporting. The role also involves assisting visitors, communicating concerns to supervisors, and responding appropriately to unusual activity. A calm approach, sound judgment, and reliable attendance are essential.
 

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct Routine Patrols: Walk assigned areas to identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, hazards, and other conditions that may require attention.
• Observe Security Systems: Monitor cameras, alarms, and access-control equipment when assigned, reporting irregularities promptly.
• Verify Access: Check identification when required, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate records of entries and exits.
• Respond to Incidents: Follow established procedures when addressing disturbances, suspicious activity, alarms, or emergencies.
• Complete Written Reports: Record patrol findings, incidents, safety concerns, and relevant observations clearly and accurately.
• Assist Visitors and Occupants: Provide directions, answer routine questions, and communicate in a courteous, professional manner.
• Apply Property Rules: Follow post orders and established procedures while addressing violations respectfully and consistently.
• Identify Safety Concerns: Inspect assigned indoor and outdoor areas, including stairways, emergency exits, and elevators, as directed.
• Communicate With Supervisors: Report developing situations, request assistance when needed, and provide timely updates about assignment concerns.
• Support De-escalation: Use calm communication and appropriate conflict-management techniques whenever feasible.
• Maintain Professional Standards: Remain alert, protect confidential information, and exercise sound judgment throughout each assignment.
• Adapt to Coverage Needs: Transition between assignments and duties as directed while learning and following the procedures for each location.
   

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to two years of professional security experience.
• Ability to understand and follow written instructions, post orders, and emergency procedures.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Clear verbal communication and the ability to prepare accurate written reports.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Ability to interact respectfully with visitors, employees, and members of the public.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and patrol indoor and outdoor areas.
• Ability to navigate stairways, emergency exits, and elevators as required by the assignment.
• Ability to recognize potential hazards and respond promptly in accordance with training and established procedures.
• Successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
• Completion of Citadel Security USA onboarding requirements.
• Ability to pass a drug test if required by the client.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Denver security guard license.
• Valid driver's license.
• Two or more years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
• Familiarity with surveillance systems, alarms, access-control procedures, and incident documentation.
• Experience using digital reporting tools or security operations platforms.
• Eligibility for driver clearance if assigned to duties involving patrol vehicles or driving.
• Availability for extended shifts, weekends, and holidays when operationally required.
