Overview
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Dietary Aide/Server to join our team in Ottawa, IL. This vital role involves assisting with meal service, food preparation, and maintaining a clean, safe dining environment for our residents. Shift Details:

• Starting at $17.50 per hour

Duties

• Serve meals to residents or patients with professionalism and care, adhering to dietary requirements and safety standards
• Assist in food production and meal preparation, ensuring all dishes meet quality and sanitation guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, kitchens, and food service equipment through regular sanitation and cleaning routines
• Support with bussing tables, sanitizing utensils, and ensuring a welcoming dining experience for all residents or patients
• Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy trays or supplies, utilizing manual handling techniques to prevent injury
• Adhere strictly to food safety protocols, including proper food handling, sanitation procedures, and workplace safety regulations
• Collaborate with dietary department staff to meet individual nutritional needs and assist with special dietary requests

Qualifications

• Previous assisted living or nursing home experience is highly preferred; experience working with geriatric patients is a plus
• Food service or food industry background with knowledge of food preparation and handling techniques
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and basic math skills for portioning and inventory management
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques
• Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude toward residents or patients
