Cash Handler

Join our Cash Handling team and play a critical role in ensuring the accurate, secure and efficient processing of daily cash takings across our iconic retail operation. 

About the Role 

As a Cash Handler, you will support the day-to-day operation of the Cash Office, ensuring all monies received across the business are accurately counted, reconciled and processed. Working within a highly controlled environment, you will help maintain robust audit trails, support banking activities and ensure cash handling procedures are followed at all times. This is a detail-focused role where accuracy, accountability and confidentiality are essential. 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Counting and processing cash, cheques, foreign currency and gift vouchers using cash counting equipment and systems. 
• Reconciling daily till takings and ensuring all monies are accurately recorded and balanced. 
• Performing cash collections, including special cash collections from tills and the removal of shop floor floats when required. 
• Preparing cash and coin deliveries for banking, while maintaining accurate records and audit trails. 
• Distributing change across the business and supporting wider Cash Office activities to ensure smooth operational delivery. 

About You

You will be a highly reliable and detail-oriented individual who takes pride in delivering accurate work in a fast-paced environment. You will have previous experience working with cash and understand the importance of maintaining strong controls when handling company funds. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team, you will be able to manage routine processes efficiently while responding to changing operational demands. As the needs of the business can vary, you'll be flexible in your approach and willing to adapt when required. Above all, you'll demonstrate integrity, professionalism and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy. 

You will also have: 

• Previous experience in a cash handling, cash office, banking, finance or retail environment. 
• Strong numerical skills and the ability to accurately reconcile and process large volumes of cash. 
• Flexibility and willingness to adjust working hours in line with business requirements.
