KH220 - Temporary Chef - Hamptons + Manhattan, NY

Overview

A lovely family in Manhattan is seeking a part-time temporary chef to start around August 15 for 1-2 months, with the possibility of extension. The family is specifically looking for postpartum support after mom gives birth in August. They enjoy high-quality, ingredient-forward meals and would love a chef skilled at Japanese and/or Vietnamese cuisine. The schedule will be 3-5 days per week, cooking meals and snacks.

 

The ideal candidate would be available to trial the weekend of July 24 in Water Mill (Hamptons), though this is flexible. 

Responsibilities

• Cooking meals and snacks 3-5 days per week for two adults and two children. There are no allergies or dietary restrictions 

• Grocery shopping and restocking of the pantry. 

• Keeping the kitchen tidy and cleaning up before leaving. The chef will not be expected to serve the food and can leave after cleaning up. 
• The chef will be expected to send the week's menu the week before so the principals can advise on any changes.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate is clean, tidy, and easy-going. The family is thoughtful and kind, so they hope to find a chef matching that energy.
• Kid-friendly; there are two well-behaved school-aged children in the home 

Requirements

• Must have familiarity with Asian cuisine 
• Within commuting distance from Manhattan, this position is not open to candidates looking to relocate
• Legal to work in the US

Compensation is flexible
