Harrison Street Asset Management ("HSAM") is a leading global alternative investment management firm focused on real estate, infrastructure, and credit strategies across North America and Europe. Headquartered in Chicago, Toronto, and London with offices across North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, the firm has over $108 billion in assets under management on behalf of institutional investors and registered investment advisors globally.
Founded on a culture of innovation, HSAM is an early mover in alternative real estate and mid-market infrastructure. Today, the firm’s global team, consisting of more than 520 professionals, is committed to creating long-term value through deep sector expertise and forward-thinking strategies.
Harrison Street is seeking to hire an Analyst Intern to spend 10 weeks on the Portfolio Management team. The position will be a key member of the portfolio management team with exposure to the entire firm as well as senior leadership. Candidates should possess broad-based analytical skills, strong understanding of Excel, superior communication skills, and proven research skills. The individual must be a self-starter, able to efficiently allocate time between multiple tasks, changing priorities and tight deadlines. This opportunity is open to rising Juniors in 2026-2027 school year.
The Portfolio Management Team is responsible for overseeing all activities within the Harrison Street Funds and is involved in the entire investment management process – from capital raise, fund documentation, and asset acquisition through asset disposition and fund winddown – which provides a holistic experience within Private Equity Real Estate. The team works closely with the Investor Relations Group to raise capital, marketing to investors and onboarding them into a fund. With the capital raised, Portfolio Management works with the Acquisition Group and the Investment Committee to build the portfolio to achieve a targeted return within the fund’s risk framework. Portfolio Management then works with Asset Management as they execute each real estate asset’s business plan. Along the way Portfolio Management is responsible for operating the fund in compliance with the fund documents and communicating performance to all stakeholders. Being involved in every step of the process provides a broad and valuable experience in Private Equity Real Estate.
