Global Travel Collection (GTC), part of Internova Travel Group, is the most influential collection of international luxury travel agencies. Responsibilities

The Senior Director, Events Strategy & Execution is responsible for developing and leading the strategic vision, planning, execution, and performance of Global Travel Collection's event portfolio. This role serves as a senior leader within the Partner Product, Marketing & Events organization and is accountable for ensuring events drive measurable business outcomes including advisor engagement, partner revenue growth, advisor recruitment, brand visibility, and stakeholder satisfaction.

 

The Senior Director will oversee the end-to-end event lifecycle across advisor, partner, leadership, and enterprise initiatives while collaborating closely with teams across GTC and Internova to align priorities, maximize resources, and deliver exceptional experiences that strengthen Global Travel Collection's position as the industry's leading luxury travel advisor organization.

 

This role requires a highly strategic and collaborative leader who can balance long-term vision with flawless execution, build strong cross-functional partnerships, manage significant budgets and vendor relationships, and inspire teams to deliver world-class events that support business growth.

 

Event Strategy & Business Leadership

  • Develop and execute a multi-year event strategy aligned with GTC and Internova business objectives.
  • Establish event portfolio goals, success metrics, and ROI frameworks tied to revenue growth, advisor engagement, recruitment, retention, and partner satisfaction.
  • Continuously evaluate the event portfolio to ensure investments align with organizational priorities and evolving market needs.
  • Identify opportunities to expand event offerings, improve attendee experiences, and create new revenue-generating programs.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on event investments, event performance, and future growth opportunities.

Portfolio Management

Provide strategic oversight of GTC's event portfolio, including but not limited to:

  • ARRIVE
  • Circle events
  • In person advisor learning and engagement programs
  • Partner events and activations
  • Leadership meetings and internal conferences
  • Recruitment-focused events
  • Industry conferences and trade events
  • Executive and VIP experiences
  • Ensure each event aligns with broader organizational objectives and delivers measurable value to advisors, partners, and the business.

Revenue Growth & Partner Engagement

  • Partner closely with Partner Relations leadership to develop sponsorship, activation, and partnership opportunities that drive incremental revenue.
  • Establish revenue goals and performance measurements for event-related partner investments.
  • Create scalable sponsorship and activation frameworks that increase partner participation and long-term engagement.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Partner teams to develop innovative opportunities that connect partners with advisors in meaningful ways.
  • Evaluate and optimize event profitability and return on investment.

Brand Visibility & Market Positioning

  • Ensure all events consistently reflect and elevate the GTC and Internova brands.
  • Partner with Marketing, Communications, PR, and executive leadership to maximize event visibility and industry impact.
  • Develop strategies that position GTC as the premier destination for luxury travel advisors and supplier partners.
  • Identify opportunities to extend event content through digital channels, media partnerships, thought leadership initiatives, and year-round engagement programs.
  • Support executive visibility opportunities and key stakeholder engagement initiatives.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Enterprise Collaboration

  • Lead collaboration across Marketing, Partner Relations, Advisor Services, Sales, Technology, Finance, Operations, Communications, and Executive Leadership teams.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between GTC and Internova event stakeholders to ensure alignment, resource sharing, and enterprise consistency.
  • Facilitate planning processes that establish clear ownership, timelines, communication plans, and accountability across departments.
  • Drive post-event evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee all aspects of event execution, including planning, venue sourcing, contracting, budgeting, registration, production, logistics, content support, attendee experience, and vendor management.
  • Establish standardized planning frameworks, project management processes, and operational best practices.
  • Ensure risk management, compliance, and contingency planning are incorporated into all events.
  • Leverage technology and data to improve efficiency and attendee experiences.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Events team.
  • Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and professional development plans.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Build scalable organizational structures and processes to support future growth.

Financial Management

  • Own event budgets and financial performance across the portfolio.
  • Develop annual budget forecasts and long-range planning recommendations.
  • Manage contract negotiations and vendor relationships to maximize value and control costs.
  • Track and report event ROI, partner revenue, attendee engagement metrics, and operational performance.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 + years of progressive leadership experience in event strategy, experiential marketing, conferences, or related fields.
  • Proven success leading large-scale event portfolios with executive visibility and significant budget responsibility.
  • Experience managing events that drive revenue, customer engagement, brand visibility, and business growth.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams in complex matrixed environments.
  • Strong financial acumen, budget management, and contract negotiation experience.
  • Experience developing sponsorship, partnership, and revenue-generating event programs preferred.
  • Exceptional project management, communication, and organizational leadership skills.
  • Travel industry experience strongly preferred.
