Job Summary

The Lease & Title Supervisor leads a team responsible for the accurate management, review, and maintenance of oil and gas leases, title, ownership, obligations, and related land records. This role oversees lease and title data entry, quality control, documentation updates, reporting, and workflow improvements to ensure accurate and timely administration of critical land information. The supervisor provides coaching, training, and support to team members while resolving complex administrative issues and promoting consistent, compliant, and ethical practices. Working closely with Land, Accounting, Legal, Division Order, Operations, and other internal stakeholders, this position supports acquisitions, contractual obligations, cost allocations, AMI offerings, and ongoing land administration activities. This role leverages land systems, industry knowledge, and process improvement practices to maintain data integrity, support business objectives, and ensure lease, title, ownership, and obligation records are maintained in accordance with company policies, contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and internal controls.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises, trains, mentors, and supports team members responsible for lease, title, ownership, obligation, contract, and related land records administration.
  • Assigns, prioritizes, and monitors team workload to ensure timely, accurate completion of departmental deliverables and key initiatives.
  • Reviews and verifies lease, title, ownership, obligation, pooling, AMI, mineral deed, and related land data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Oversees the maintenance, organization, documentation, and integrity of lease, title, ownership, obligation, and contract records in Quorum and other company systems or repositories.
  • Performs and oversees quality control reviews, exception reporting, audit responses, and data integrity analysis to identify errors, trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains standard operating procedures for lease and title administration processes to promote consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Coordinates with Land, Legal, Accounting, Division Order, Operations, and other departments to research and resolve lease, title, ownership, payment, obligation, and contract-related matters.
  • Supports acquisition and divestiture activity by reviewing, organizing, validating, and integrating incoming land, title, ownership, contract, and due diligence materials.
  • Oversees lease setup, obligation setup, ownership updates, cost allocation reviews, AMI offerings, and related land administration workflows.
  • Monitors lease expirations, payment obligations, contractual commitments, critical dates, pooling information, and other lease maintenance requirements.
  • Reviews and assists with complex lease, title, ownership, and obligation matters, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Ensures records and processes comply with company policies, ethical standards, internal controls, contractual requirements, and applicable regulatory or industry standards.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities to streamline workflows, improve data accuracy, enhance reporting, and standardize lease and title administration procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant experience with an active oil and gas exploration company.
  • Ability to calculate mineral and working interest.
  • Extensive experience working with various state, regulatory and third-party data websites.
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in Quorum or other Land applications with an eagerness to learn other internal applications quickly.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
