Compound Operative

Role Overview

A new opening for one Compound Operative within a container port operation in the South East. The role involves driving the reach stacker and general compound duties, working as part of a small rotating team across early morning and daytime shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the reach stacker within the container compound area.
• Carry out general compound operative duties, including manual handling and container movement.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and checked prior to use each day.
• Maintain attention to detail across daily tasks to avoid errors or damage.
• Strong focus on Health and Safety.
• Work as part of a rotating team of three to ensure cover across shift hours.

Candidate Profile

Essential

• Experience driving trucks.
• Counterbalance and forklift driving experience with valid licences.
• Technically minded, with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable with manual handling and outdoor, physical work.
• Willingness to learn and operate compound machinery, including the reach stacker.

Hours and Pay

• Shift pattern: 5am to 6pm, with three staff rotating across the shift window, some Saturdays required.
• Approximately 40 hours per week.
• Salary: €20.50 per hour.

Port area, South East Ireland.
