Job Summary
Salary range: $22.81-$32.62. Pay is based on experience.Responsible for assisting with the administration or respiratory therapy treatments and procedures to patients with respiratory problems under the supervision of licensed respiratory therapists.
Essential Functions
-Assists with patient assessments by gathering information about patients' respiratory conditions by taking vital signs, measuring oxygen levels, and monitoring breathing patterns.
-Prepares equipment for respiratory therapy treatments, such as oxygen tanks, nebulizers, and ventilators.
-Keeps accurate records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
-Helps with the administration of respiratory therapy treatments, such as oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, and breathing exercises.
-Cleans and sterilizes equipment after each use to prevent the spread of infection.
-In the event of an emergency, assists with resuscitation efforts and notifies the healthcare team.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Must be enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy Program, Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
Experience
Experience working in respiratory care 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the respiratory system.
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques and equipment.
- Proficiency in performing basic respiratory care interventions such as oxygen therapy and airway management.
- Ability to perform patient assessments and monitor patient progress.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment and patient issues.
- Ability to adapt in changing situations and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
