Job Family Definition:
The job family spans across multiple engineering disciplines. Work consists of designing, developing, analyzing, troubleshooting and debugging systems, software and solutions for research and/or research development of product, services, and solutions for HPE’s portfolio. Requires a broad knowledge and application of engineering disciplines, methodologies and tools.
Job Family Definition for Executive Levels only: Directs and manages a diverse team of engineering professionals performing research, development, design and/or implementation of products, services, solutions for the company’s portfolio. Responsible for creating and communicating technical strategy within the organization and/or across the function.
Management Level Definition:
Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for daily configuration, management, monitoring and routine maintenance of Juniper series routers (MX/PTX etc.), ensuring 7×24 stable operation of network devices
- Proficient in deploying and troubleshooting core routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, L3VPN, independently solving network route flapping, link congestion, packet loss and other anomalies
- Assisting with network inventory tracking and management to support the network
- Undertake network capacity expansion, device upgrade, service cutover, architecture optimization and other network transformation projects, sort out implementation plans and complete on-site deployment and verification
- Quickly respond to network failures, complete fault location, emergency repair and root cause analysis, form standardized fault handling reports, and avoid repeated failures
- Testing Juniper Networks product features and functionality
- Providing regular updates on work in progress and current issues
- Providing informal technical and product workshops
- Troubleshooting the network and supporting operations
- Developing network and equipment operating procedures
- Evaluating technical specifications for interoperability
- Assisting in the ongoing definition of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the network and services
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Typically 6-10 years experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Solid practical experience in Juniper router operation and maintenance, proficient in Junos OS operating commands and configuration logic
- In-depth understanding of TCP/IP protocol stack, proficient in core routing and switching protocols (BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, VLAN, LACP, etc.)
- Familiar with enterprise-level network architecture, able to independently complete daily fault troubleshooting, link cutover and device upgrade work
- Familiar with common network monitoring tools, able to accurately locate network delay, packet loss, route abnormality and other problems
- Have good network troubleshooting thinking, able to handle emergency network faults efficiently, with strong on-site problem-solving ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
