Opportunity Overview 

MxD is building pipeline of talented project delivery professionals to support current and future business initiatives. MxD has multiple ongoing research and modernization projects in Industry 4.0, Supply Chain, Digital Twins, Future Factory, Systems Integration, and Cybersecurity. This evergreen posting allows us to connect with experienced individuals interested in joining our Project Management Office (PMO) across a variety of project, program, portfolio, and operational support functions in contract roles for at least one (1) year, with potential term extensions. 

We welcome professionals at various career stages, from early-career project coordinators to experienced program and portfolio leaders. Individuals who demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a passion for delivering business value are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates may be considered for opportunities as business needs arise.

Key Responsibilities 

Depending on the specific role and assignment, responsibilities may include: 

  • Planning, coordinating, and executing projects from initiation through final delivery 
  • Developing project schedules, work plans, budgets, and resource forecasts  
  • Monitoring project scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and milestones to ensure alignment with SOW and contractual obligations 
  • Collaborating with cross-functional internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders 
  • Facilitating project team meetings, distributing key meeting outcomes, and tracking deliverables 
  • Preparing project status reports, dashboards, and executive communications 
  • Managing project budgets, monitoring forecast variances, and communicating financial impacts   
  • Managing project portfolios and resource planning 
  • Driving process improvements and PMO best practices 
  • Supporting change management and adoption activities  
  • Ensuring compliance with project management standards and methodologies 

 Position Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience 
  • Experience supporting or leading projects, programs, or PMO functions  
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment  
  • Experience using project management tools and reporting platforms, such as Monday.com (preferred)  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Experience with government-funded projects and contracting processes is desirable 
  • PMP or CAPM certification preferred 
  • Must be available to work on-site for 1 to 3 days per week

Salary Range:  $70,000 to $150,000 (base pay dependent on position and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience)

MxD is a 10-minute walk from the North and Clybourn Red Line stop, a 20-minute walk from the Division Blue Line stop, and accessible by a variety of other public transit options; additionally, we have free parking available for employees.
