To lead the enterprise reporting function for Pick n Pay, ensuring high-quality, trusted, and timely business intelligence outputs that empower decision-making across the organisation. This role oversees the design, delivery, governance, and optimisation of enterprise reporting solutions, driving adoption of self-service BI, standardised metrics, and a single source of truth. The Senior Manager is responsible for leading the reporting team, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring reporting platforms meet performance, scalability, and usability requirements.

Minimum Qualification: 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data/Business Analytics, Data Management or related field.

Preferred: Postgraduate qualification in Business Analytics or MBA with BI focus.

Minimum Experience: 

8+ years in BI/reporting, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Preferred: Experience in retail/FMCG; expertise in BI platform optimisation and enterprise reporting governance; strong track record in self-service BI enablement. Strong skills in managing and delivering projects, including planning, prioritisation, communication, and resource coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Define and execute enterprise reporting strategy, standards, and governance aligned to business needs.

Lead, coach, and develop a team of BI developers and data visualisation specialists.

Oversee the delivery of accurate, consistent, and timely reports and dashboards for operational and strategic use.

Partner with business units to define and maintain KPI definitions and reporting requirements.

Drive adoption of self-service BI tools and data literacy across the organisation.

Optimise reporting platforms (Power BI, SAP Analysis for Office, and others) for performance and usability

Partner with the Data Engineering team to guide the design and maintenance of data warehouses (SAP BW, Snowflake), data models, views, and      queries to support operational reporting across reporting tools

Ensure data integrity, availability, and performance of reporting tools

Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with governance and privacy standards.

Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, and business stakeholders to ensure reporting needs are met.

Collaborate with Data Engineering and IT to ensure BI infrastructure meets scalability, security, and availability requirements

Manage vendor relationships and oversee relevant licenses and support agreements.
