Your opportunity

Behind every conversation, partnership and community-led initiative is someone who can bring people together, listen deeply and create opportunities for positive change.

As our Community Engagement Officer, you will play a vital role in strengthening relationships with tenants, residents and local stakeholders, helping foster inclusive, connected communities where people feel empowered to shape the future of their neighbourhoods.

  • Support the development and implementation of strategies that connect tenants with appropriate services and supports.
  • Coordinate and facilitate community engagement activities, forums, workshops and events.
  • Manage tenant feedback, informal complaints and appeals, supporting continuous improvement outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with tenant groups, community organisations and local stakeholders.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives and contribute to community partnership strategies.
  • Plan and manage community engagement projects, including risk assessment, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Work collaboratively across Housing, Assets and Community Development teams to support integrated service delivery.
  • Collect, analyse and report on community engagement outcomes, feedback and performance data.
  • Maintain accurate records, stakeholder registers and administrative documentation to support service delivery and compliance.

Requirements for success

  • Relevant degree, diploma, certificate qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement, community development, housing or community services.
  • Experience facilitating community consultations, workshops and engagement activities.
  • Proven capability in stakeholder relationship management and partnership development.
  • Experience managing projects, events and engagement initiatives from planning through to evaluation.
  • Understanding of government funding, contracting environments or community service systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while taking initiative and responding flexibly to changing community needs.
