Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Assess existing manual test suites and build a prioritized automation roadmap based on business risk, execution frequency, stability, and maintenance value.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and TypeScript for front-end, integration, end-to-end, and API testing.
- Enhance and maintain the automation framework, including reusable components, fixtures, reporting, parallel execution, environment configuration, and failure diagnostics.
- Develop and execute automated tests for Angular and .NET applications, including backend and API testing where appropriate.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and maintain test assets within application source code repositories.
- Establish and enforce automation standards, including test design, coding practices, assertions, selectors, documentation, and code reviews.
- Improve test reliability by resolving flaky tests, environment issues, timing dependencies, and test data challenges using SQL, APIs, scripts, and fixtures.
- Analyze test failures to identify application defects, automation issues, environment problems, and data-related issues while supporting risk-based release testing.
- Collaborate with developers, product teams, and delivery leaders to improve testability, refine acceptance criteria, and mentor junior automation engineers.
- Leverage AI-powered coding tools such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex to accelerate automation development while validating AI-generated code for quality, security, and maintainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in test automation, software development, or SDET; experience in a professional services environment is preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience in Playwright automation and TypeScript development for modern web applications.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and enhancing scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks beyond individual test scripts.
- Experience developing automated UI, integration, end-to-end, and API tests, with a solid understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, HTML, CSS selectors, browser behavior, and asynchronous execution.
- Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, with proficiency in Git, branching strategies, pull requests, and code review practices.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in test data creation, validation, cleanup, and management using SQL, APIs, scripts, or test fixtures.
- Ability to troubleshoot flaky or intermittent test failures using logs, traces, screenshots, network analysis, videos, and other diagnostic tools while applying risk-based testing practices.
- Demonstrated experience using AI-powered coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, OpenAI Codex) responsibly, ensuring the quality, security, and maintainability of generated code.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and influence engineering best practices.
- Preferred experience with Angular, .NET, Azure DevOps, accessibility, visual regression, performance or contract testing, reusable testing utilities, and consulting or managed services environments.
