M03 - Platform Operation Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Platform Operations Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure to design, operate, secure, and support cloud-hosted application environments.

The role focuses on Azure cloud infrastructure, platform operations, DevOps, observability, incident management, security, and governance. The successful candidate will work closely with application teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure cloud platforms remain secure, highly available, reliable, and compliant with government standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, aligned with government policies and standards, including IM8 and Zero Trust principles.
• Oversee contractors managing application systems hosted in the cloud to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
• Enable and support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for proactive system and platform management.
• Manage and resolve incidents, problems, and changes in accordance with ITIL processes.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures to minimise recurring incidents.
• Ensure cloud environments comply with applicable security, governance, and audit requirements.
• Conduct and coordinate change management activities to support operational requirements while maintaining governance compliance.
• Work closely with technical teams and service providers to troubleshoot platform and application issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen platform stability, security, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating Microsoft Azure environments.
• Strong understanding of Azure cloud infrastructure, security, networking, identity, monitoring, and platform operations.
• Experience supporting cloud-hosted enterprise applications and production environments.
• Experience implementing or supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
• Good understanding of ITIL processes, particularly Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust security principles.
• Familiarity with Singapore Government IM8 requirements would be advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
