Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Advocate/Quality Coordinator to support a positive patient experience while contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. This role serves as a liaison between patients, families, and hospital staff, helping to resolve concerns, protect patient rights, and identify opportunities for service excellence and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Advocacy & Complaint Resolution
- Serve as an advocate for patients and families throughout their care experience.
- Conduct daily patient rounds to proactively identify and address concerns.
- Receive, investigate, document, and manage patient complaints and grievances.
- Facilitate communication between patients, families, providers, and hospital departments.
- Coordinate timely resolutions and follow-up activities.
- Maintain confidential documentation of complaints, investigations, and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements for grievance management.
- Escalate complex concerns or potential legal issues when appropriate.
- Provide updates on significant patient concerns to hospital leadership.
Quality Improvement
- Track and analyze complaint and grievance trends.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement process improvements.
- Assist with collecting, analyzing, and reporting quality and performance improvement data.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual performance improvement reports.
- Participate in initiatives that enhance patient satisfaction, quality, and safety outcomes.
Compliance & Incident Reporting
- Assist with the review and reconciliation of incident reports.
- Maintain data within electronic reporting systems and databases.
- Support compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in healthcare, patient advocacy, customer service, risk management, quality improvement, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Hospital or behavioral healthcare experience strongly preferred.
Certifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- De-escalation Training: Handle With Care (HWC) certification.
