Manager Corporate Accounting

Summary

The Corporate Accounting team’s responsibility is to ensure accurate accounting and reporting under Generally   Accepted Accounting Principles and company policies. This position will support and manage various financial reporting, fund accounting and other accounting   services carried out by the team in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Education

• At least B.Com graduate; M.Com, MBAs in   Finance, ICWAs or CAs preferred

Relevant Experience

• 15+ years’ experience  in financial accounting; real estate accounting, or property accounting a  plus
• Hands-on General Ledger and Sub ledger accounting experience
• Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is a  plus

Technical Know-how/Tools used

• Advanced-level knowledge of accounting principles and professional  accounting standards
• Expert Knowledge and ability to oversee, conduct and improve processes pertaining to recording, adjusting, and reconciling financial transactions and events
• Expert knowledge of tools, practices and considerations for general ledger; the ability to direct and manage company-wide general ledger processing
• Basic theoretical knowledge of tax accounting principles to appropriately record taxes.
• Expert knowledge of key finance concepts and ability to leverage them   to guide process owners and oversee process improvements
• Advanced knowledge and ability to analyse financial statements and data to oversee process of preparing financial performance reports
• Advanced knowledge of statutory law and audit processes to examine and analyse the effectiveness of an organisation’s operations to provide   assistance to Audit teams
• Advanced Knowledge and ability to create standard internal management reports & dashboards for the function
• Intermediate understanding of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound business decisions
• Advanced understanding of internal controls and ability to assist and oversee in the development of financial and accounting controls in compliance   with legal and reporting requirements.
• Advanced knowledge and ability to collect, store and retrieve data to minimize duplications and oversee process of maintaining accurate data across   organization
• Expert knowledge and ability to analyse data and oversee the development and simplification of the report generation process
• Advanced knowledge and application of automation tools and ability to leverage them to enhance process efficiencies, analysis and reporting
• Advanced knowledge and ability to leverage systems and applications to deliver and improve on operational processes, enable integration and provide   data query/Support
• Advanced Knowledge and ability to understand and apply policies and techniques to manage a set of related projects within a program
• Expertise in MS Office, Excel specifically
• Experience in property management software, such as Yardi is a plus

Roles & Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

• Perform the timely completion of the monthly accounting close for corporate entities of Pretium
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of general ledger accounts and financial statements prepared by Corporate Accounting team
• Review prepared financial statements such as Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Accounts, Trial Balances etc. to ensure compliance with the accounting   standards
