What is the opportunity?

Join RBC Investor Services as Director of Client Due Diligence & Onboarding. Lead strategic transformation of our AML/KYC program by redesigning the end-to-end client onboarding experience from application through regulatory approval. Design and implement a target operating model that streamlines onboarding processes, reduces client friction, and accelerates time-to-market while maintaining rigorous compliance standards. Oversee critical technology initiatives to modernize our capabilities. Build and mentor a team managing both new client onboarding and ongoing due diligence requirements. Establish RBC IS as an industry-leading hub for AML/KYC best practices. Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver exceptional client outcomes within a leading financial institution.

What will you do?

  • Create and deliver the target operating model to enhance client experience; drive team effectiveness through people, process, technology, and data; deliver on prioritized initiatives (e.g., Onboarding Target Operating Model, Fenergo Replacement).
  • Build and mentor Associate Directors and Managers; support career development; conduct performance management and provide continuous feedback.
  • Develop and enhance key partnerships with business stakeholders across RBC IS and enterprise; maintain client-facing relationships.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and RBC risk appetite; manage the AML/KYC control environment; assess risks and develop mitigation plans; provide reporting insights.

Must haves:

  • University degree
  • Proven strategic leadership and ability to drive organizational change
  • Project management experience
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams
  • Knowledge of AML/KYC regulatory requirements and risk management
  • Change management and continuous improvement mindset

Nice-to-have:

  • MBA
  • Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Prior experience with onboarding/KYC transformations
