Description
Create Ads That Stop the Scroll and Drive Results
Are you a senior video editor who understands that great advertising is about more than making content look good?
Do you know how to build a strong hook, maintain viewer retention, and turn raw footage into creative that drives conversions?
We are looking for a Senior Video Editor & Ad Designer with strong experience in Direct Response, DTC, and Performance Marketing.
This is not a traditional video editing role. You will be responsible for creating, analysing, and continuously improving high-performing advertising creative. Rather than spending your time on repetitive administrative tasks, you will have the freedom to focus on creative production, testing, research, and performance.
What You'll Do
Create High-Performing Ads
- Produce high-volume video and static ads for Meta and other paid social platforms.
- Transform UGC, raw footage, product B-roll, AI-generated assets, and creative briefs into compelling advertising.
- Develop multiple creative variations to test different hooks, angles, messaging, visuals, and formats.
- Create ads that feel native to the platform while maintaining a high standard of production quality.
Build Strong Hooks and Retention
The first few seconds of an ad are critical. You will create attention-grabbing openings designed to stop the scroll and keep viewers engaged.
Your work will include:
- Strong visual and audio hooks
- Pattern interrupts
- Fast, feed-native pacing
- Punch-ins and dynamic cuts
- Strategic B-roll
- Retention-focused transitions
- Visual and audio techniques that maintain attention
Visual and Sound Design
You will use your editing and motion design skills to strengthen the performance of every creative.
Responsibilities include:
- Dynamic typography and captions
- Motion graphics
- VFX and compositing
- Motion tracking
- Masking and keying
- Product cutouts and screen replacements
- Strategic visual effects
- Sound effects, music, risers, impacts, and transitions
- AI-generated voiceovers and audio
Every creative decision should serve a purpose: attention, retention, or conversion.
Think Like a Performance Marketer
This role requires more than strong editing skills. You should be comfortable using performance data to understand why creative succeeds or fails.
You will analyse metrics such as:
- Hook Rate
- Hold Rate
- Outbound CTR
- CPA
- Retention
- Conversion performance
When an ad underperforms, you should be able to identify the likely creative issue and determine what needs to change.
For example:
- Is the hook too weak?
- Is the pacing too slow?
- Is the message unclear?
- Is the visual failing to capture attention?
- Is the CTA getting lost?
You will use these insights to create stronger iterations and improve performance.
Creative Research and Competitive Analysis
You will regularly research successful advertising creative across:
- Meta Ad Library
- TikTok Creative Center
- YouTube Shorts
- Competitor advertising
- Emerging creative formats and trends
You should be able to identify new hooks, editing styles, formats, pattern interrupts, UGC approaches, and other creative opportunities before they become saturated.
AI-Powered Creative
AI is an important part of the creative workflow. You will use AI tools to increase production speed, creative variety, and testing capacity.
Experience with AI tools for the following is highly valued:
- Video generation
- Image generation
- Voiceovers
- Audio
- Creative research
- Asset creation
- Creative testing
