Description
We are looking for an experienced HR professional to join a well-established maritime group as Assistant Manager, Group HR. The role supports Group-wide HR initiatives and regional HR operations across areas including employee engagement, learning and development, recruitment, compensation and benefits, HR governance and employee lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities:
Regional HR Operations
- Manage regional HR operational and administrative matters, including employee records, employment documentation, HRIS administration and training records.
- Support the full employee lifecycle, covering recruitment, onboarding, confirmation, performance management and offboarding.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand manpower requirements and implement appropriate recruitment strategies.
- Coordinate regional compensation and benefits activities, including the annual performance and salary review cycle.
- Manage regional employee insurance renewals, enrolment and withdrawal processes, and related employee enquiries.
- Liaise with outsourced payroll and tax service providers and monitor agreed service standards.
- Provide guidance and support to junior HR team members.
- Provide backup support for payroll and other HR operational matters when required.
- Undertake other HR projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Group HR Governance & Employee Engagement
- Support the review and continuous improvement of Group HR policies, employee handbooks, processes and procedures.
- Ensure HR practices comply with applicable employment legislation and statutory requirements across the region.
- Advise line managers on HR processes, employee relations and workplace matters.
- Coordinate regional HR projects and work closely with local HR teams and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate employee information across HRIS, recruitment and document management platforms.
- Conduct periodic HR compliance reviews and support internal and external audits.
- Plan and implement Group-wide employee engagement initiatives in collaboration with local HR teams.
Learning & Development
- Design, implement and evaluate learning and development programmes aligned with business and talent priorities.
- Identify training needs through performance reviews, employee feedback and skills assessments.
- Develop regional training plans and recommend suitable learning interventions.
- Manage the company's e-learning platform, including content, employee records and learning dashboards.
- Coordinate e-learning programmes, knowledge-sharing sessions and other capability-building initiatives.
- Work with internal stakeholders and external training providers to deliver effective learning solutions.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- At least five years of generalist HR experience, preferably covering regional HR operations and learning and development.
- Familiarity with employment practices and compliance requirements across ASEAN markets.
- Hands-on experience designing or coordinating training and employee development programmes.
- Good knowledge of recruitment, employee lifecycle processes, compensation and benefits, and employee engagement.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and manage both strategic initiatives and day-to-day HR operations.
- Demonstrates sound judgement and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive matters.
- Proficient in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Times Pro or within the maritime industry would be an advantage.
