Join Cross Country Education as a Behavior Interventionist (BII) in Palos Verdes, CA and work one-on-one with students across a variety of grade levels, implementing individualized interventions, supporting classroom participation, and helping students develop greater independence.
Position Overview
- Provide one-to-one behavioral and instructional support to elementary, middle school, high school, and transition-age students using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies and individualized intervention plans.
- Implement behavioral interventions aligned with IEP goals, collect and document student behavioral data, and support positive behavior and classroom management strategies across educational settings.
- Assist students with academic activities, curriculum modifications, transitions, and daily living and personal care needs, including toileting assistance when required.
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and other members of the educational team to support student goals, maintain consistency in behavioral interventions, and promote a positive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of full-time ABA-based behavioral support experience with school-aged children
- Completion of a 40-hour Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) seminar or workshop
- CPI Certification preferred, and valid Driver's License
- Experience supporting children with autism spectrum disorders preferred
- Knowledge of ABA techniques, child development, classroom behavior management strategies, behavioral data collection/documentation, and appropriate safety procedures
